Komatsu Americas is a leading manufacturer of wheel loaders, forklifts, and other construction equipment. The Carlisle Associates Inc. team designed their 203,480-square-foot facility in Newberry, South Carolina with 12,400 square feet of engineering, office, and training space and 191,080 square feet of manufacturing space. The building consists of a pre-engineered steel framed production area with a conventionally framed office area. The plant has vertical ribbed metal siding on the exterior walls with a standing seam metal roof.

Translucent panels were included at the eaves to provide daylight. The office has a two-toned split face CMU front facade with vertical rib metal siding one each side wall. The plant is provided with ventilation and heat and the office is air conditioned. There are extensive staging, storage, and shipping areas on site.
